Current rank: |
Born & raised: |
| ITF 8th Dan |
Born: Luków, Poland Raised: Lubartów, Poland |
My Taekwon-do journey began in 1985 at the age of 12 in Lubartów, Poland. It was February 27, 1985, to be precise, and from the beginning until now I have been training under the guidance of Grand Master Jerzy Jedut.
My initiation into Taekwon-Do stemmed from my general passion for sports. From a young age, I played table tennis, soccer, and wrestled. I became interested in Taekwon-Do around the time of Bruce Lee's film "Enter the Dragon." Taekwon-Do first appeared in my town in 1983. My older brother started training that same year, and after seeing him train in 1985, I decided to give it a try, and it's stuck with me ever since.
Since the beginning of my Taekwon-do training, I've met exceptional people who have had an impact on my life. Taekwon-do has changed my life. I wish everyone perseverance, and hope they find the same passion for this martial art that I did.
My most memorable martial arts moments were:
My first Taekwon-do competition in 1987, where I placed third in the 54kg category. In 1988, I became the Polish Senior Champion (54 kg), and in 1989, I won my first international title in Pyongyang, North Korea. In 2001, I claimed my first World Championship title in patterns, up to 4th Dan.
Over my career, I achieved numerous victories in Poland, across Europe, and globally, ending in 2013 at the World Championships in Spain with my sixth World Championship title. My record includes six World Championships, twenty European Championships, and twenty-five Polish Championships, all individual, alongside many team gold medals.
Highlights of my Taekwon-do journey also include multiple meetings with the founder, Gen. Choi Hong Hi, and receiving the Outstanding Personalities Award in 2015 in Jesolo, Italy.
Competitive Highlights:
6 x ITF World Champion
20 x ITF European Champion
25 x ITF Polish Champion
and many titles in team competitions.
I am currently a coach at MKS Lewart AGS Lubartów and also work as a member of the AETF Technical Committee. Previously, I coached the Polish National Team for 10 years. I lead national and international seminars and enjoy sharing my knowledge.
What’s next?:
Taekwon-do is a constant path of development, constant training that never gets boring. I want to constantly improve my technique and teach young students the principles taught by Gen. Choi Hong Hi.
My experience working with Mightyfist:
Ever since Mightyfist launched, I immediately started using their products. They are top-quality products. They are highly professional in branding, and the people behind them are wonderful and friendly, supporting the development of Taekwon-Do worldwide. A big thank you to Jonathan Morris.
